Turning Sixteen Can Be So SWEET!

Recently, I helped a couple of moms give their girls a 'Sweet Sixteen' party, that was SO much fun!

The beautiful
birthday girls,
Caroline and Sara,
'Kicked off the Summer'
(so said the invitation) with sunflowers,
some great Texas barbeque,
an awesome band and...
...LOTS of
 SUGAR!
  Sixty-two pounds to be exact!

Using summer colors of turquoise and yellow, the girls and their guests got to enjoy the colorful candy, cupcake and cookie buffet all evening. A variety of candies were selected from Candy Warehouse, luscious strawberry, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were created by Leslie 'The Cake Lady' Rabenaldt, and iced in their colors and topped with little sunflowers or each girl's
monogram.  Too cute!

   Pink Perfection created the
Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies (YUM!)  using the girls' initials- 'C'' or 'S' - and the numbers '1' and '6'.
Cookies were also cut out in large and small sunflowers!

Creating the design of a party is half the fun, and the wonderful party paper products, in yellow and turquoise, from Shop Sweet Lulu - the fun straws, candy favor bags and cupcake wrappers that you see here - did just the trick...
The group enjoyed playing volleyball, horseshoes, washers and other games...
Dante Lenisa and Corbin Berrones...

While Sara played volleyball in her boots...
 Caroline visited with friends...
and everyone enjoyed the barbecue from K.D.'s...

...and as the hot Texas sun finally started to set,
the great music of  'Emory Quinn' (from San Antonio),
wafted across the huge backyard at KD's,
and got everyone on their feet for some dancin'!
Showing their dance moves are
 Kathryn Hanson and Preston Howey...
Kennedy Coffman and Michael Iaquaniello...
Anne Findley and Mason Montgomery
Sara greets Kaydee Strickland

Two-steppin' must be the FIRST dance kids learn in TEXAS!
for capturing all the fun in her fab photos!

Happy moms,
Suzanne Smith and Susan Spears,
 with their happy girls,
Caroline Smith and Sara Spears!

Hope you had a 'Happy, Happy', Girls!
Cheers!
